Voting
When and where should I go?
2026 Voting will be held in the Moon Shadow room on Wednesday from 10:30am - 3:30pm.
You must be a member in good standing as of 8/4/26 to vote in the 2026 elections.
How do I know if I’m in good standing?
Your membership dues must be paid on or before 8/4/26. You can also call the FASNY Office at 518-434-0987 and ask to speak with the Membership Team to check your membership status. Or email convention@fasny.com.
You must be registered for the 2026 Convention to vote. If you are not, you can do so upon arrival at the on-site registration. This will give you the needed credentials to vote.
If you are preregistered, you can bypass the on-site registration and go directly to preregistration where your credentials will be waiting in your packet for you.
Follow the signs for voting after you pick up your credentials.
If I’m a Delegate or Alternate Delegate for my Fire Department and need to make changes, how do I do that?
On-site registration is the only location where you can make any adjustments to your voting status. Any adjustments made will need to be verified by the Association Secretary who will be onsite.

Recruitment & Retention Roundtable
Join us for an interactive roundtable designed to highlight the innovative recruitment and retention strategies being used across the state. This session provides departments with a structured forum to share successes and work together with fellow firefighters to solve common challenges. This facilitated discussion focuses on peer-to-peer learning, giving every attendee a chance to voice their ideas and take home actionable next steps.

Where and when can I pick up our county memorial candles?
Candle pickup and the scrolling of the names will be available directly after the Memorial Service and will be held in the Morning Star Room on the First Floor Thursday 8/20.

These awards recognize bravery, selflessness, and exceptional commitment in safeguarding our communities. At the FASNY FCU Annual membership meeting you will hear about the 2025 year in review, financial safety and soundness, and annual board elections.

Management Training for Today's Fire Company Board of Directors
As an Officer or Director of your Fire Company Board, your job entails more than staffing the next firehouse fundraiser. Join FASNY Treasurer Sean Kerwin and FASNY Attorneys Tim and Terry Hannigan for an interactive overview of the legal and financial considerations for proper corporate operation of a volunteer fire company.

2% Training
The Two Percent Tax Forum provides members of fire departments and chartered benevolent associations the opportunity to listen to speakers from various New York state government agencies who will present an overview of 2% Tax usage and distribution pertaining to their areas of expertise. Speakers will answer questions submitted by forum attendees. A certificate of attendance will be provided to all attendees.
Buckenmeyer Scholarship Casino Night
Try your luck at the Buckenmeyer Scholarship Casino Night and enjoy an evening of excitement, games, and giving back!
All proceeds support the Gerard J. Buckenmeyer Memorial FASNY Volunteer Scholarship, which awards twenty‑five $1,500 scholarships each year to outstanding high school seniors who serve their communities through the volunteer fire service.

Classroom Training: Rope Rescue Old VS. New - Getting Out of the Dark Ages
This training will show how and why we did things the way we did and what devices are out there now to make our jobs easier and safer. This would be for all skill levels from beginner to seasoned rescue personnel. This session would cover ropes, knots, hardware, software, legacy vs new tech, patient packaging and systems work.

Hands-on Training: Car Over the Embankment
A great session to energize the crews to be able to safely and efficiently gain access down low angle terrain, package a victim and haul the patient and crew back up safely to the top side. This session again would cover ropes, knots, hardware, software, legacy vs new tech, patient packaging and systems work and give participants multiple reps. All skill levels are welcome.

4th Annual Testimonial Dinner honoring Past Presidents
On Saturday, Aug. 22 from 6 p.m. – midnight at the Holiday Valley Lodge, join us as we honor and celebrate the accomplishments of outstanding FASNY BOD, trustees, and LAFASNY members.
The evening will begin with cocktails starting at 6 p.m.
Welcome address and dinner service starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by dessert and speeches. Dress code is coat and tie.
